I admit, I've not posted on my deviantart page for a while.. journal entries that is. but you can all see that anyway (what few of you there are), I don't need to point that out. But a new year has come, 2005, and my new years resolution is to take my art more seriously than I have been doing. I've done art for a long time.. literally as long as I can remember.. problem is, with that amout of practice behind me, it's easy to become complacent and believe that everything's fine the way it is.  I'm trying to step it up a notch, I'm going to try harder to remember the tips and stuff people give me, and I'll make sure I observe and investigate things more clearly.. those things that influence and inspire us.

I've wanted to be a concept designer for a long time now, and I have come to the conclusion that my work is not .. well.. not good enough to achieve that yet (I never truly did think it was good enough). It's particularly relevant as I'm currently working as an environmental concept designer on a Half-Life 2 mod called Forsakenand never feel like I'm making much of a contribution, but of course it's all up to me to make sure I do. It just seems harder than it should be to get stuff done.. Nevermind, that's what I'm aiming to change this year!
